There has been talks about a fourth Jurassic Park movie since a long. But the project ground to a halt: first because Steven Spielberg wanted the scriptwriters to hone the screenplay and then Michael Crichton, the author behind Jurassic Park, passed away...
Fans of the Jurassic Park movie series were kind of lost. But now Director Joe Johnston is bringing a new hope that Jurassic Park 4 will still be developed sooner or later:
So if this quote of Joe Johnston is anything to believe, they aren't returning to the island for Jurassic Park 4... What about the previous script titled 'Jurassic Park 4 Extinction' then? In that script a virus was wiping out the dinosaurs from the island. Well I guess they're writing a new script for Jurassic Park 4!
It's gonna be heard to bring anything new to the genre though... I wonder what is this great story Joe Johnston is talking about!
Anyway, quite impatient to learn more about the movie Jurassic Park 4.

"There is a great story for the fourth one that I would be interested in getting involved with and it's nothing like the first three," Johnston told the site, "It sort of takes the franchise off in a completely different direction, which is the only way I would want to get involved.

Why would anybody go back to that island? It was hard enough to figure out the second and third reason for them to go, but it would take it off in a whole other trilogy basically, but when it gets to that level it's sort of about studios and Steven Spielberg's thing and who knows. I think we are at that point where we are due for another one if we are going to do it."
