Summary: You can expect a Hellboy 3 if the second installment earns its money back. Make no mistake, director Guillermo del Toro loves making Hellboy movies. The first barely broke even, and it was his determination alone that made this sequel happen.
On the red carpet last week he said “Don’t tell my family, but I would love to do Hellboy 3 consecutive to the Hobbit. The first movie was 2004, the second movie is 2008 so if the third movie is 2012, 2013, it’s not that far off.” Elsewhere he elaborated, “I don’t think sequels that are whipped out are the best ones. I love the idea that we took so many years to make this one. If it takes four years to make Hellboy 3, I’m at peace.”
But that doesn’t mean he’s not already actively thinking about it -
Hellboy was originally created as a comic book by Dark Horse’s Mike Mignola back in 1994. Mignola is credited as co-writer on Hellboy 2. He says planning for the next sequel is already underway, and also shed some light on the future of the comic:
“Guillermo has thrown out so many ideas for the third movie, you go, ‘Geez, if he puts everything into Hellboy 3 that he says will be in Hellboy 3, it’ll be 36 hours long.’ The third film, being the end of (the film trilogy), is hard for me. The comic is going to go for 10 to 15 more years, so I don’t want to give him my ending. I want my ending to be a surprise.”
Will Mignola give del Toro the ending to his comic? We’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime, any blockbuster franchise with 58 year old Ron Perlman as its leading man is alright with me.

He also stated during an interview given to SciFi that Hellboy 3 would likely be the closure of the Hellboy movie franchise:

"If there was ever a third one, I would really make sure that we at least sign a contract that there is no more. No prequels and no sequels: nothing. If that happens, then there is a third one we have planned, and the seeds are planted in this film."

Quite sad to hear Hellboy 3 will be the last movie, but glad that Del Toto and Universal still have the big red hero on their minds for now. And a release of Hellboy in 2012 that's not so far.

The only thing I can share with you is we have this demon who is a victim of this Oracle, which is not negotiable. He's been summoned to the Earth for the destruction of mankind, and that’s non-negotiable. This whole notion that his nature, is the demon of destruction — against the way he's been nurtured by his father, John Hurt's character, to be kind and in the service of mankind. Those things are going to be in play in the third one. Then of course you have Liz pregnant with twins at the end of the second film. So you don’t know what those two offspring are going to be? Are they going to be more human? Are they going to be more demon? Are they going to be a combination of the two? And how is that going to play out, in terms of Hellboy's destiny. Which I say again is non-negotiable. So that’s the backdrop for the third film. And everything will be resolved, all these open-ended questions will finally be resolved. The first Legion movie directed by Scott Stewart isn't in theaters yet, but it looks like there is Legion movie sequel in the air! Tom Waltz, one of the Legion comic book series' writers, hinted at a possible Legion 2 movie. Here's what he said:

"Our comic provides an exclusive expansion on some of the ideas and themes presented in the film and, perhaps, a hint at things to come should there be a movie sequel [of Legion]... Each of these people have been chosen as prophets to protect the only hope for humanity in the apocalypse - a special child, who is yet to be born (for more on that, you have to see the movie!). As the apocalypse strikes and angelic possession begins to plague the planet (again, see the movie!), all five of these seemingly ordinary folks quickly find out they have special gifts and powers that set them apart from other humans... as well as a unifying mission they've all been given hints to through strange (and sometimes horrific) visions. These are standalone issues, though the fourth issue does feature all fiveprophets. And did I mention these are not all of the prophets in 'Legion' lore? Hint, hint."

So maybe that little boy to be born that Archangel Michael wants to protect in the film is going to meet the prophets from the comic book in the movie Legion 2! That would be awesome!

Super-humans gifted with abilities versus hordes of fanatic angels! What an explosive movie it would b:! I'm all for such a sequel to Legion!

But before we speculate further about Legion 2, let's wait for the release of the first film which has to perform well for any sequel to be greenlit

Summry: The Spider-Man film series consists of superhero films based on the fictional Marvel Comics character of the same name. The rights to a motion picture based on Spider-Man were purchased in 1985 and moved through various production companies and studios, at one point having James Cameron to direct, before being secured by Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Sony hired comic book fan Sam Raimi to direct the first three films. Through the films, Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) developed a relationship with his high school crush Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst), and as Spider-Man, he has battled the villains Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe), Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina), New Goblin (James Franco), Sandman (Thomas Haden Church), and Venom (Topher Grace).
The first three films, produced on a total budget of US$597 million, grossed nearly $2.5 billion worldwide. Each film set several box office records, with all three included in the top 20 highest-grossing domestic films as well as the top 30 highest-grossing worldwide films. Critics have given the first two films positive reviews, while the third film has received mainly mixed reviews. The series has been released on both Blu-ray and DVD.
A fourth entry in the series was planned for release in 2011; however, in 2010 the film was cancelled due to Raimi's withdrawal from the project. Sony announced that the franchise will in turn be rebooted with new director Marc Webb and a new cast which includes Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, and Rhys Ifans as the Lizard. The reboot's intention was to have Peter Parker back to developing his abilities in high school. It is scheduled to be released in 3-D in 2012.
